String Sets Violin Family

For each instrument we recommend two sets of strings: One containing unwound gut strings only and one set comprising silver-wound strings for the lower ranges.

String set "Early" (unwound):
This string set is a so-called "equal feel" set, suitable for music before 1680.

String set "Late" (unwound + silver)
With this string set string tension decreases towards the lower ranges. It is suitable for music after 1680.
